For a great deal of people in our society, holiday season is a synonym for delicious abundance. But more shopping often means more waste: a reason for nationwide Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling campaign - Christmas edition.
In Amsterdam, Food Cabinet , in collaboration with @gemeenteamsterdam and Van Amsterdamse Bodem, created a #verspillingsvrij Christmas recipe booklet in which local chefs share their no waste recipes and tips.
Tamara was asked to contribute to the booklet with a recipe and made Burek with Stamppot: (store bought) phyllo rolls with leftovers fermented cabbage and potato, caramelized onions and mushrooms - that can be a surprising starter on your festive table or a yummy lunch on the third day of Christmas.
Dining Apart Together
Online Cook-Alongs
Online Cook-Alongs were a part of West Verbindt initiative and were realized in cooperation with FoodConnectie and Gemeente Amsterdam. The Cook-Alongs took place in October 2020, January, February & March 2021 as well as in October 2021.
All participants received a box with ingredients, a vegetarian recipe and a link to join the Zoom meeting where we cooked, chatted and dined 'together'.

Embassy Festival is a yearly festival taking place in Den Haag, representing and bringing different cultures together. This year, though, the program was different than in previous years: lots of online content, surprise boxes with typical food products and/or wine from all over the world and a Recipe Booklet .
Upon request of Croatian Embassy in Den Haag , Tamara contributed a recipe for Black Risotto to the Recipe Booklet in order to represent Croatian cuisine.
This dish is very typical of coastal Croatia but also a personal favorite as it comes with family history. At the same time it is beloved by many of our guests and clients.
If you haven't ordered your copy of the Recipe Booklet, you can still get privileged access to the recipe here , if you subscribe to our baby newsletter here !
In collaboration with The Taste of Croatia we organize unique wine & dine experiences twice a year. It's one of our favorite extracurricular activities: we get to pair most exceptional Croatian wines with the dishes inspired by our origins and even meet the charismatic wine-makers. There is a lot of testing, tasting and creative work involved in order to treat our guests to an unforgettable culinary journey.
